Wayne has dedicated more than 40 years to horse and rider training programs. He has ridden and trained five world champions in working hunter, over 60 year-end champions in USEF competitions and over 40 top ten finalist and 11 first place winners at the All-American Quarter Horse Congress. He understands the differences that every horse and every rider brings to the program and works with each to reach the potential they are trying to achieve. Wayne takes pride in his riders having a grounded sense of confidence not only riding, but handling horses on every level. There is no set program that works for everyone, but everyone gets a custom program to fit their needs, ability and experience levels.
The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) program that was founded in 2002 by Roaxane Rheinheimer and Wayne Ackerer, is to provide and promote equestrian athletic competition among middle and high school students from grades 6 through 12. This program, closely affiliated with the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association, provides an excellent opportunity for young riders that do and do not own a horse to participate in equestrian activities. The program is very simple, the rider takes 2 lessons a week on Wayne's lesson horses, and the horses are provided for the shows at the facility that is hosting the event.
Wayne currently sits on the Executive Board of the IEA and is a past President of the Association. Current affiliates to the Association are the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF), and the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA).
He is also a life time member of the Ohio Quarter Horse Association and the Tri State Horse Association.
